Where Can You Use Faux Outdoor Plants

Everywhere and anywhere. Faux outside plant can replace or compliment real plants wherever they are already in-use.

For the front garden, our customers favour tall plants to frame their front doors. Plants like our best-selling bay tree or cedar spiral topiary are extremely popular. Artificial hanging baskets are another favourite which adds year round colour to your homes exterior.

For the back garden, add patio tubs to your patio, window boxes to your ledges or beneath your windows and flowering bushes and shrubs to your flower beds. These plants also work really well for smaller areas like balconies, terraces and courtyard gardens.

For hard to reach hooks and ledges, choose between colourful or green foliage hanging baskets and window boxes like the wild flower basket or the allium window box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you use artificial plants outside?

Where possible, you should only use fake plants that are designed for outdoor use. These will usually have UV resistance built in or be resilient to the UK climate. Normal artificial plants can be used outside, however their lifespan will be shorter.

How to plant outdoor artificial plants?

To plant a faux plant outside, dig a hole in the ground that is slightly larger than the starter pot. Add stones or sand to the bottom to help with drainage. Insert the plant into the hole and fill around the original pot.

How to clean fake outdoor plants?

Fake outdoor plants should not need to be cleaned regularly because the wind does a pretty good job removing dust and debris. If your plant is dirty, gently rub it with a damp cloth.

How long will artificial garden plants last?

Outdoor artificial plants can last for several years, however because of variable weather conditions it is very hard to provide an absolute lifespan on them.

To maximise your outdoor plant’s lifespan, protect it from extreme weather like heat waves, high winds and storms. We also recommend rotating plants regularly to spread any gradual weathering.

All of our outdoor plants are guaranteed for a minimum of one year.

Can artificial plants get wet?

Artificial plants that are designed for outside use can get wet and be exposed to moderate wind.

If your plant does get wet, it’s important that it dries out to prevent rot and other water related damage. If necessary you may need to move the plants into a sunnier spot for a short period of time.

We also suggest adding draining holes in plant pots used outdoors. This will prevent water building up within the pot and damaging your faux plants.
