Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The oriental bamboo tree is available in three sizes between 130cm (4ft) and 180cm (6ft). As with all of our plants and trees, the total measurements are taken from the ground to the very tip of the foliage.

From November 2018, the faux oriental bamboo tree has been upgraded to include UV stable foliage which now means you can use the plant inside and outside your home, office or business.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

Our faux oriental bamboo is dense, bushy and has more leaves compared with the similar sized bamboo plants in our range. The bamboo canes on the product are taken from natural bamboo plants – you can’t get more real than that right? Each bamboo cane has pale green plastic shoots which then hold the two tone, detailed leaves in place.

Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, so rather than take our word for it we always recommend reading our customer reviews. They’re independent and can’t be edited by us so you can trust what they say. To date this faux bamboo plant has over 100 reviews with an extremely high average rating!

Where should you put it?

Bamboo plants are incredibly versatile and this faux bamboo is no different. The oriental bamboo can be used both inside and outside your home because of its UV stable foliage.

The artificial bamboo tree can be used as a standalone plant in a pot sited on your patio or in the corner of your room. Alternatively used a string of them in long planters or in a garden border to create natural looking artificial plant screening.

When the oriental bamboo tree arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. We pack the oriental bamboo tightly into made to measure cardboard boxes to reduce the risk of damage in transit. Depending on the quantity ordered, there may also be more than one tree per box. When the bamboo arrives, remove it from the packaging and recycled as much of it as you can.

  3. Arrange
  4. Because the oriental bamboo is packed so securely, the foliage will be in an upright and compacted position. This is completely normal and only takes a few minutes to rectify. Spend a few minutes manipulating the plastic branches to ensure they are evenly spread around the bamboo plant. Then spend a few minutes opening out the bamboo leaves to create a dense overall appearance.

Some of the bamboo leaves may be slightly creased. These creases can usually be smoothed out by running them between your finger and thumb. Any remaining creases tend to drop out between 24-72 hours after removing the bamboo from the packaging.

For further information of arranging your artificial oriental bamboo, watch of how to guide here.

  5. Add finishing touches
  6. The artificial oriental bamboo tree will arrive in a small black pot which we call a starter pot. This is designed to hold the tree together and should be replanted into something a little bit larger and more decorative. This will increase the plants stability and help the plant merge into its new home.

What about ongoing maintenance?

The whole point of buying artificial over natural is the lack of ongoing maintenance. This oriental bamboo is no different. All it asks for is a light dusting from time to time to prevent build-up of dust or debris.

Did you know?

With around 1500 species of bamboo it’s not surprising that artificial oriental bamboo is so popular. They are also the fastest growing plant on the planet, growing an average of three feet every 24 hours. A natural bamboo is an easy plant to maintain but does prefers more tropical climates. With our varied British weather, it’s not surprising artificial bamboos have become an overly popular choice in our homes!
