Artificial topiary balls are a go-to choice for bringing classic colour to either side of your front door or in your garden, and they work great as an alternative to hanging baskets!
From hanging round topiary balls to ball trees and more, we’ve gone to the trouble of creating the best artificial topiary balls with multi-tone foliage and UV stability, so they don’t turn an odd shade of blue in the sun. 🌿
Choose our pair of traditional hanging boxwood balls for a timeless feature, opt for the boxwood triple ball tree if you want something a little more unique and architectural, or check out our indoor olive ball tree to add beauty to your interior.
There’s no need to obsess over achieving perfectly pruned topiary or fretting over box blight and other hassle. You can simply choose your favourite from our range and leave it to spruce up your garden in an instant!
Most of our faux topiary balls are specially treated with a UV resistant coating and can be used outdoors all year round. These include our boxwood ball (pair), boxwood triple ball tree, boxwood single ball tree and our large 60cm topiary ball.
Our outdoor topiary balls are happy in the sun, rain, wind and even snow, but in extreme weather and storms, we always advise that you move them to a more sheltered home. For more info, read our article on protecting artificial plants from extreme weather.
The rest of our range including the rose ball tree and monstera hanging ball are designed for indoor use only and make great features for your interior, but please don’t use these beauties outdoors... they don’t tend to like the sun! ☀️
A few of our artificial topiary ball trees include natural wood stems to really pull off the look. This does however mean that they need a little extra thought if you’re thinking of planting your topiary ball trees in the ground.
To plant artificial topiary in the ground:
- Dig a hole slightly larger than your plants pot
- Add a layer of stones or sand to the hole to help with drainage
- Pop your plant in and check it’s straight
- Fill in the gaps with earth and press down to keep it secure.

When it comes to planting hanging topiary balls, you can simply bury the chain into your potting medium or stake the ball into the ground with a peg as shown in our video below. (Coming soon!)
Our artificial trees are designed to be low faff for you, and they will be… trust us! Arranging the foliage sounds complex, but in this case, it’s really just fixing up any foliage that was flattened in the box.
To do this, start at the bottom of your tree and gently work the foliage out. Remember that topiary is designed to be tight… so in other words, you don’t need to do too much.
