Artificial Ligurian olive tree

Make your faux olive tree taller by filling the bottom of your pot with a layer of stones or soil, then sit your tree on top and fill the extra space with more potting medium. This will add a few inches to make your fake olive tree taller.

Try to keep your faux olive tree somewhere that receives natural sunlight and use a pot that's plenty big enough. Using a pot that's too small is a dead giveaway that your tree is false!

Once your olive tree is in position, take a few minutes to shape your olive tree's foliage, giving each branch a slight curve upwards to mimic the way a natural tree would grow.

Keeping your tree in bright direct light for long periods of time may cause the leaves to discolour. For that reason, we recommend keeping your faux olive tree indoors, unless it's specially advertised as safe for outdoor use. For more info, read our guide to UV resistance.

What care? With no special dietary requirements or demands for sunlight, you can sit back and relax. All we suggest is giving the leaves a light dusting from time to time with a damp cloth.

To maximise the plants lifespan, we don't recommend using it outdoors. It's not UV protected, so may fade, discolour or not get on well with high winds.

Arranging your faux plant is an important first step! When it arrives, take it out of its packaging and take a moment to bend out the stems and smooth the leaves until you're happy with it.

Most plants arrive in a simple black pot. We suggest popping this into a more decorative one. This increases stability and helps the plant blend into your interior.

1. Find a pot a little bit larger than the starter pot
2. Pre-fill the pot with earth or sand if the pot is too deep
3. Put the plant into the pot and fill around the starter pot
4. Top off with decorative stones
