Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The ruby ball cactus measures 85cm high. This is taken from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. This fake cactus will arrive in a small black travel pot which should be re-potted into something more decorative. Choose from our range of pots here.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

The artificial ruby ball cactus features several plastic spikes that are a realistic reproduction of the real thing. It also features a contemporary ribbed stem topped with realistic ruby coloured balls. This faux cactus is manufactured from high quality polyethylene plastic giving it an authentic rubbery appearance. The pot is even topped with faux beetle dung.

Where should you put it?

The ruby ball cactus is designed for indoor use. Your new artificial cactus wouldn’t look out of place brightening up a corner of your home and would suit a warm, sunny room like your conservatory. However, your new artificial replica is going to look its best wherever you decide to use it in your home!

When the ruby ball cactus arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. Your new faux cactus will arrive wrapped safely and securely in strong packing. The pot may be packaged in additional protection which should be removed and recycled. If your order arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as you can.

  3. Arrange
  4. Your ruby ball cactus is ready to go into your space straight out of its box. It won’t require any arranging.

  5. Add finishing touches
  6. Re-potting your cactus can make a huge impact on its appearance. It will help it to seem more realistic and allow it to blend into your home décor. You can use a pot that you already have at home or check out our range of premium plastic planters here. To re-pot your artificial plant simply place the starter pot into your new pot, fill around the edges with sand or soil and top with decorative stones. It’s really simple and only takes a few minutes to complete. Once you’ve finished, your new cactus is ready to go into your chosen space.

What about ongoing maintenance?

Our range of faux plants are manufactured with simplicity in mind. They don’t need watering, feeding or pruning but they may need dusting quickly every now and then. This will prevent any build-up of dirt and help to keep it looking realistic and healthy. Apart from the occasional dust, your ruby ball cactus is entirely maintenance free!

Did you know?

The ruby ball cactus, otherwise known as ‘Gymnocalycium mihanovichii’ is a species of cacti that originates from South America. It’s a mutation of a normal cactus as it totally lacks the green pigmentation that allows other plants to absorb solar energy. The only way it can survive is to be grafted into a green cactus that can absorb this energy for it. Generally the natural ruby ball cactus doesn’t live for very long, but our artificial version will still look amazing in years to come!
