Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

Choose from 150cm (5ft), 180cm (6ft) or 210cm (7ft) tall size options. All measurements are taken from the ground up. The canopy width of the 150cm tree is approximately 75cm - 80cm, the width of the 180cm tree measures 90cm - 100cm wide and the 210cm tree measures approximately 120cm wide. We’ve measured the width from the widest point after the foliage has been arranged, however this may vary depending on how much you bend the leaves outwards.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

Our faux musa banana tree includes beautiful large green banana leaves with authentic splits which would naturally be caused by the wind. These sprout from a thick banana tree trunk coated in natural wood for added realism. We’ve carefully compared every aspect of our musa banana tree including the foliage, colour, shape and size against its natural counterpart to ensure that it’s as realistic as possible.

Where should you put it?

For the most convincing look, try keeping your banana tree in a warm area such as a conservatory where they could naturally grow in the UK. You could also use your new faux banana tree to create an exotic atmosphere in your bedroom, lounge or reception area.

This tropical faux tree is designed for indoor use only. For more information on what this means, check out our Ultimate Guide to UV Resistance.

When the musa banana tree arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. Your new faux tree will arrive securely packed into a strong cardboard box. When your order arrives, open the box and remove the tree. The pot and foliage will be wrapped in additional protection to keep them safe which can usually be recycled.

  3. Arrange
  4. When you receive your order and open the box, you may be surprised to find that the foliage is bunched together. This keeps the leaves and stems safe during transit while preventing any potential damages. To correct this, take a few minutes to firmly bend out the leaves until you’re happy with their appearance. You can use our images above to guide you. For more information on how to arrange your tropical banana tree watch our video guide here.

  5. Add finishing touches
  6. Your musa banana tree will arrive professionally pre-potted in a small black travel pot. We recommend that you re-pot your banana tree into a more decorative planter to add the finishing touch to your tropical display. This will also help it to blend into your existing interior décor and provide it with more stability. What about ongoing maintenance

With a real banana tree, you’ll need to take care to avoid lush growth during the winter because this makes them more susceptible to disease. You’ll also have to avoid common pests like mealybugs and red spider mites and make sure to avoid over and under watering.

The artificial musa banana tree is an ideal solution to all of these problems. There’s no need to water it and you won’t need to worry about disease and pests. Instead, the only thing you’ll ever need to do is gently wipe down each leaf with a damp clothevery once in a while to remove any build-up of dirt or debris to keep your tree looking its best.

Did you know?

The banana plant is currently the fourth largest fruit crop in the world. It originated in the Indo-Malaysia region and was first brought into Europe around the 10th century. In Thai folklore, a spirit named Nang Tani haunts wild banana plants, and therefore, it is considered a bad omen to cut them.
