All our plants are packed tightly in the box to avoid damages en route. So, when the artificial bird of paradise lands you'll need to tinker with the leaves until you are happy with the appearance. The stems are wired so can be pulled and prodded into shape easily.

For a realistic look, imagine a traditional clock face. The newer bird of paradise leaves are lighter in colour and sit in the 10, 11, 1 and 2 positions. The older leaves are a bit darker and sit in the 9 and 3 positions.

We'll deliver this plant in a basic black starter pot. No decorative pot will be included. We recommend replanting it into something more in line with your décor for both visual appeal and stability.

When you add this faux plant to your basket you can select one of our handpicked suggestions. We choose pots based on the size of the opening and height of the pot (so it physically fits). And the height of the plant, as taller plants don't look right in tiny pots, regardless of whether the starter pot fits, plus a larger pot will add stability.

Actually potting your plant is pretty simple. Pick a pot, pop in your plant (leaving it in it's starter pot) and fill around the base with decorative stones, soil, bark or a filler of your choice. You can fill the bottom of the pot with a cheaper, bulky filling and top with a decorative filling to save on cost.

This plant takes less than 10 minutes to arrange. There are no parts to put together, you'll just need to bend each branch out in turn to fill the space you have. You can spread out the plant as much or as little as you'd like.

If the leaves have any excess folds in they should drop out after a few days, but smoothing the leaves by hand will help. Add to a pot of your choice, slot into your space and you're all done. Easy peasy!
