Everything you need to know
Ferns have been popular houseplants for over a hundred years – with good reason! Nothing says ‘home’ quite like the Boston fern’s bright apple green, sword-like fronds cascading over a classic pot.
Whether it is a welcoming addition to a windowsill, a side-table statement-piece or part of a group arrangement, the Boston Fern will immediately lift and brighten any space.
Real Boston ferns are notoriously susceptible to mites and need very specific soil and sunlight conditions. However, Blooming Artificial’s Boston Fern has 40 beautiful individually-crafted silk fronds, looks completely lifelike even up-close and needs nothing but an occasional flick of a duster. Best of all it can be placed anywhere in your home for instant uplifting greenery.
The best way to really rock-your-fronds (said noone ever) is to separate the foliage and bend the leaves, just like you would with an artificial Christmas tree for example. It’s super-simple and we’ve created a super-short video guide here.
Your Boston Fern will arrive in a black starter pot but to make it look its best – and for added stability – we would recommend repotting.
You may already have the perfect pot for it but if you don’t we have a carefully selected line of plastic planters available to match any taste and space. Simply repot as you would a real plant and for that no-one-will-ever-know-it’s-fake finishing touch, top off with a little soil, sand and/or decorative stones.
Real Boston ferns can be notoriously difficult to maintain, needing humidity and shade and being susceptible to mites. With our artificial Boston Fern, all you have to do is give it the occasional dust to ensure its long, bright fronds stay looking their best – and it will be your BFFF (best fern friend forever).
Your fern’s stunning fronds are intricately designed using different beautiful tones of green that perfectly replicate the varying shades of a natural fern - so no one will ever believe it’s Blooming Artificial.
Did you know?
The Boston Fern acquired its name because it was first propagated in 1894 by a florist in Massachusetts.
