Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The artificial Boston fern comes pre-potted in a small black starter pot measuring 17cm (Ø) x 14cm (h), ready to be pre-potted into a larger more attractive planter. It measures approximately 40cm tall and 55cm wide depending on how much you fluff out the foliage. It features 40 individual long green fern leaves.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

This stylish faux plant features long apple green fronds with several tones of green for a more natural appearance. Each frond has an internal wire which allows you to bend it into a more realistic position until you’re happy with the overall look. See what previous customers thought by reading our reviews above.

Where should you put it?

The Boston fern is designed for inside use only. We think it looks amazing on kitchen worktops, bedside tables, shelves and coffee tables for a small splash of style and greenery but it would also suit your bathroom where a real fern would grow well. Use the gallery above to see how previous customers have used the Boston fern in their homes.

When the Boston fern arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. Your artificial Boston fern will arrive securely packed in a strong cardboard box. The foliage and pot may be wrapped in additional protection to keep them safe during transit and should be recycled where possible.

If your Boston fern arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as possible.

  3. Arrange
  4. When you first unbox your Boston fern the foliage may all be pointing upright. This is a result of it being packed tightly to keep it safe and is normal for artificial plants. To correct this, simply spend a few minutes bending out each leaf until you have a more natural curve. You can use our images above as a guide.

For more information on how to arrange your artificial plants, watch our video guide here.

  5. Finishing touches
  6. After arranging your Boston fern, we recommend re-potting it into a more decorative planter. This helps it to blend seamlessly into your existing interior décor. You can use one of your own pots or choose from our range of small premium plastic planters here. To re-pot your Boston fern, place your fern and its starter pot into your new planter, fill around the edges with sand or soil and top with some decorative stones for a finished look.

What about ongoing maintenance?

As a tropical plant often found in rainforests, natural ferns need to live in a humid environment with indirect sunlight to survive, which isn’t always possible. Without this the leaves will wilt and the plant won’t live for long.

As a faux plant, our Boston fern can live anywhere within your home and look amazing all year round no matter what its living conditions are. There’s no watering or feeding necessary, the only thing you’ll need to do is dust it from time to time to prevent any build-up of dirt and keep it looking realistic.

Did you know?

The Boston fern or sword fern as it’s also known, became a popular indoor plant back in the 19th century and is still one of the most popular house plants today. Not only does it add style, but it also helps to purify the air by filtering out unhealthy pollutants.
