Everything you need to know

The dracaena fragrans is one of the most popular houseplants around and it's easy to see why. With its lush, broad, arching leaves clustered at the top of a tall, solid trunk, it's a plant that looks like it took years of careful tending to achieve. This one didn't.

At 120cm high and only 50cm wide, it gives you real vertical impact without eating into your floor space - ideal for narrower rooms or spots where a wider plant just won't fit.

That trunk is the real star. The chunky, textured trunk with its distinctive ring markings is what makes this plant so recognisable and so striking. Up close, it's beautifully realistic.

Lush from every angle. The broad, arching leaves fan out naturally from the top, creating that full, tropical crown the corn plant is famous for - no patchy gaps, no drooping leaves, no matter the season.

This plant takes less than 10 minutes arrange. There are no parts to put together, you'll just need to bend each branch out in tern to fill the space you have. You can spread out the plant as much or little as you'd like.

If the leaves have any excess folds in they should drop out after a few days, but smoothing the leaves by hand will help. Add to a pot of your choice, slot into your space and you're all done. Easy peasy!

What care? With no special dietary requirements or demands for sunlight, you can sit back and relax. All we suggest is giving the leaves a light dusting from time to time with a damp cloth.

To maximise the plants lifespan, we don't recommend using it outdoors. It's not UV protected, so may fade, discolour or not get on well with high winds.

Most plants arrive in a simple black pot. We suggest popping this into a more decorative one. This increases stability and helps the plant blend into your interior.

  1. Find a pot a little bit larger than the starter pot
  2. Pre-fill the pot with earth or sand if the pot is too deep
  3. Put the plant into the pot and fill around the starter pot
  4. Top off with decorative stones
