Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The artificial ficus tree is available in 120cm (4ft), 150cm (5ft) or 180cm (6ft) sizes and comes in a choice of two colours, green or variegated. It comes pre-potted in a small black starter pot, ready to be re-potted into something larger and more decorative.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

The foliage on the ficus tree is manufactured from a long lasting soft plastic for a realistic look and feel and includes between 654 – 1,544 leaves depending on the size you choose. They also have realistic looking veins on them for a more natural look. The decorative twisted stem is made from real wood for a more authentic finish to fool your friends and family.

Where should you put it?

This beautiful faux ficus tree is designed for indoor use only. Put it in an attractive planter and use it in your lounge, hallway, bedroom or office for a splash of bold greenery that’s sure to draw attention.

When the ficus tree arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. Your ficus tree will arrive in a strong cardboard box with additional packaging to keep the pot and foliage safe during transit. This should be recycled where possible. When your order arrives, open the box and remove your tree.

In the unlikely case that your ficus tree arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as possible.

  3. Arrange
  4. When you unbox your ficus tree, you may notice that the foliage is a bit bunched together. This is because it’s been packed tightly to prevent any damage during transit. To correct this, firmly bend out the fronds and foliage until you’re happy with the trees overall appearance. You can smooth out any creases by running your fingers over the foliage. Any remaining should drop out over the next few days.

For more information on how to arrange your artificial ficus tree, watch our video guide here.

  5. Finishing Touches
  6. The ficus tree comes pre-potted into a small black starter pot. It’s cemented into this so we wouldn’t suggest trying to remove it. We do recommend re-potting your ficus tree into a larger, more attractive pot to help it blend into your existing home décor and provide it with more stability. To re-pot your tree, put the starter pot in your new planter, fill any gaps with sand or soil and top with some decorative stones.

What about ongoing maintenance?

Our artificial ficus is very easy to care for. No ongoing maintenance such as pruning or watering is necessary. To keep you ficus looking fabulous we recommend giving it a quick dust every now and then to prevent any build-up of dirt or debris. Aside from this, you can put down your watering can and leave your fertiliser behind; you won’t be needing any of that!

Did you know?

Ficus trees are estimated to have been on Earth for 60-80 million years, with the oldest dating back to 288 B.C. It is special in many religious traditions such as Buddhism where Buddha was known to find peace under a ficus.
