Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The giant areca palm stands at approximately 277cm tall and 94cm wide, depending on how much you bend out the foliage. It comes pre-potted in a small travel pot measuring 18cm (h) x 20cm (Ø) which is designed to be re-potted into a larger more attractive planter.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

This beautiful faux palm features long green sword-shaped leaves and a thick natural looking stem manufactured from top quality materials for a highly authentic long lasting finish. We’ve compared its colour, size and foliage to its natural counterpart to ensure it looks as realistic as possible.

Where should you put it?

This striking faux palm tree is designed for indoor use only. Put it in a large decorative pot and use it in a corner of your hallway, bathroom, conservatory, office or reception area for an eye-catching tropical display.

When the giant areca palm arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. Your giant areca palm will arrive securely packed in a strong cardboard box. The foliage and pot may be wrapped in additional packaging which should be recycled as much as possible. When your order arrives, open the box and remove the base and fronds.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible.

  3. Assemble and arrange
  4. Your giant areca palm will require some self-assembly. This doesn’t take long and the fronds are colour coded to make it as easy as possible. Each frond will need inserting into the base, simply match the colours on the fronds to the inserts on the base and remove the colour coded tape when you’ve finished.

You may notice that some of the foliage is slightly creased. This is a result of the fronds being packed tightly in their box to prevent any damage. To correct this, simply smooth out the creases by running your fingers over each leaf. Any remaining creases will drop out over the next few days. You can also bend out each frond and leaf into an arch for a more realistic look.

Use our images as a guide or for more information on how to arrange the foliage, watch our video guide here.

  5. Re-pot
  6. The giant areca palm comes pre-potted in a small black starter pot. Once you’ve assembled and arranged your artificial areca palm, we strongly recommend that you re-pot it into something larger and more decorative. This will provide it with more stability and help it to blend into your existing home décor. To do this, put the tree and its starter pot into your new larger planter, fill in any gaps with sand, soil or stones and top with some decorative stones to finish off the look.

For further guidance, watch our how to video guide here.

What about ongoing maintenance?

Artificial plants guarantee long lasting colour and style in your home without the hassle of maintaining a real plant. There’s no need to water or feed your giant areca palm although you may need to dust it from time to time to prevent any build-up of dirt or debris. Aside from the occasional dust, you can enjoy a beautiful exotic display year after year.

Did you know?

Dypsis lutescens, also known as the golden cane palm, butterfly palm or areca palm is native to Madagascar and South India. The NASA Clean Air Study found that the areca palm is an effective humidifier which filters out xylene and toluene from the air and transpires 1 litre of water per 24 hours.
