Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The maidenhair fern measures xxcm tall and roughly xxcm wide. It comes in a cement base measuring xxcm wide and xxcm tall.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

Many varieties of the Adiantum genus naturally grow from rock and brick walls where moisture in the wall keeps them from drying out. Our silk maidenhair fern has been designed with this in mind and sprouts from a mossy base in a stylish cement planter. Each frond is decked with pretty green leaves in varying shades of green to replicate new growth.

We really believe you’ll struggle to tell the difference between the real thing and you’ll certainly have your friends and family fooled.

Where should you use it?

Natural maidenhair ferns love humidity so using your faux version in your bathroom would look most realistic. That being said, it won’t wilt and die so you’re free to use it wherever you please in your home, whether that’s a window ledge, coffee table or shelf.

This artificial potted plant is designed for indoor use only. Please do not use it outside as it may damage the plant.

When the artificial maidenhair fern arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. When your order arrives, unbox your new fern and recycle the packaging where possible.

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as possible.

  3. Arrange
  4. The foliage on your artificial maidenhair fern may look slightly bunched together when you first unbox it. It shouldn’t require much fuss but you may need to fluff out the foliage a bit until you’re happy with its appearance.

  5. Re-pot
  6. You can leave your faux potted fern in its cement base for a rustic look or you may choose to put it in a decorative planter to suit your home décor.

To do this, simply put the existing cement base into your new planter, fill in any gaps with sand or soil and top with some decorative stones.

For more information, read our potting guide.

What about on-going maintenance?

Maidenhair ferns need to be given a humid environment with temperatures above 16°C, no drafts and indirect sunlight. These fussy little divas also need to be strictly monitored to ensure the soil is constantly moist.

Did you know?

The Adiantum genus is made up of around 250 species of ferns. The genus name is Greek meaning “unwetted” which refers to the fronds ability to shed water without becoming wet.
