Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The fruticosa tree measures 180cm tall including the starter pot, and approximately 60cm wide at the widest point when dressed out. It comes pre-potted in a small black starter pot measuring 20cm Ø x 15cm H.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

This fabulous houseplant is a real talking point. It features a beautiful natural braided wood trunk and two-tone intricate foliage which overall creates an incredibly realistic look. Because of this, we really don’t think you’d be able to tell it’s faux and guarantee it’ll wow your visitors.

Where should you use it?

The fruticosa tree is an excellent plant for hallways, bathrooms, and living rooms, with it’s quirky appearance that immediately draws eyes in. We recommend putting it in a large stylish planter and using it either alone as a statement piece, or among other plants to bring unique colour to a display.

The artificial fruticosa tree is designed for indoor use only.

When the fruticosa arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. When your order arrives, unpack your fruticosa tree and recycle the packaging where possible. It may be wrapped in extra protection to keep it safe during transit which should also be removed.

If your order arrives damaged in any way, please contact us as soon as possible.

  3. Arrange
  4. Once unpacked, we recommend spending some time arranging your fruticosa’s leaves until you’re happy with its appearance. Some of the foliage may appear slightly bunched together, which is normal after being in transit. Simply bend out each frond with your hands and straighten any creases with your fingers. Any creases that remain should drop out over the next week or so. Please do not remove the wire that is holding the branches together.

For more information, read our guide on how to arrange artificial plants.

  5. Re-pot
  6. Your fruticosa will arrive in a small black starter pot. We strongly recommend re-potting this into a larger, more attractive pot to give your plant some extra style and stability.

To do this, put your fruticosa and its starter pot, into your new planter. You may wish to add soil or stones in first to give your tree some extra height. Then, fill in any gaps with your potting medium and top with some decorative stones.

For further information, please watch our guide to potting artificial plants.

What about on-going maintenance?

The best thing about your new plant is that it looks amazing and requires extremely little maintenance. The only thing you may wish to do is give it a quick dust every now and then to remove any dirt and debris and keep your plant looking fresh.

For more information, read our cleaning guide.

In Japan, until a few years ago, a family should have at least one bonsai over 300 years old to be considered of noble descent.
