Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The staghorn fern is approximately 36cm tall from the base of the pot to the top of the plant and roughly 33cm wide. It comes pre-potted in a small black pot that measures 11cm (h) x 12cm (w).

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

There are two different types of fronds that make up a staghorn fern. The antler shaped fronds which inspire the name of these unique plants as well as shield fronds, which are the kidney shaped ones at the base of the plant. In nature, these protect and feed the roots of the plant and they also help to secure it to other plants or trees.

Our artificial version includes both of these to ensure that it looks as realistic as possible.

Where should you use it?

Staghorn ferns tend to require bright yet indirect sunlight, so if you want to make yours seem as authentic as possible we would recommend using this in a room that receives diffused sunlight such as a bathroom or living area.

This plant is not UV stable and is therefore designed for indoor use only.

When the staghorn fern arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. The staghorn fern will arrive in a strong cardboard box to keep it safe and secure in transit. When you receive yours, open the box, remove the plant and recycle the packaging as much as you can.

In the unlikely event that your plant arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible.

  3. Finishing Touches
  4. Where the plant has been packaged securely, you may just need to arrange the leaves out a little to help them look more natural. This shouldn’t take too long, just some gently pulling out of the foliage should be enough to bring your artificial plant to life.

This plant comes pre-potted in to a small black planter already, however we recommend re-planting it into something more decorative to finish off the look and help it blend in to your décor. To do this, simply put your staghorn fern and starter pot into your new planter, fill in any gaps with sand or soil and top with some decorative stones.

What about ongoing maintenance?

Staghorn ferns require misting as well as soaking on a regular basis and can also be prone to root rot if not drained adequately enough.

However with our faux version, the only thing you will have to worry about is dusting it every now and then to keep it looking in great condition.

Did you know?

The staghorn fern is actually a type of epiphytic plant, meaning that it naturally grows on other plants. An interesting fact considering that a mature specimen can grow in excess of 1 metre wide.

They are native to various countries and continents around the world including South America, Australia, Africa, Southeast Asia and New Guinea but have now become a popular house and garden plant all over the world.
