Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The kentia palm measures approximately 270cm tall and xxcm wide. These measurements can vary by simply adjusting the foliage. It features several natural wooden stems for added authenticity and comes pre-potted in a small black starter pot. Please bear in mind that this tree will require some self-assembly.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

As well as having natural wooden stems, the kentia palm has lots of tropical palm fronds which vary in length with some smaller palm leaves towards the bottom and much larger ones that arch over towards the top. Each frond has long green leaves varying in colour to give the tree a more natural look.

Where should you put it?

The kentia palm is designed for indoor use only, for more information read our Ultimate Guide to UV Resistance. This stunning faux palm tree is ideal for a larger space in your home or office. Put it in a large decorative pot and use it in your hallway, bedroom, dining room or reception area for an instant tropical vibe.

When the kentia palm arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. The kentia palm will arrive safely and securely packed in a strong cardboard box. The pot and foliage will be wrapped in additional protection to keep it safe, which can usually be recycled. When your order arrives, open the box and remove your tree.

  3. Arrange
  4. Once you’ve unboxed your artificial palm tree, you will need to insert each frond into the base which allows you to create your own unique look. You may notice the foliage is all pointing upright. This is totally normal with artificial trees and is a result of the foliage being packed tightly to keep it safe during transit. To correct this, you only need to spend a few minutes bending out the foliage until you’re happy with the overall look. You can use our photos above to help or watch our handy video guide here.

  5. Finishing touches
  6. Your kentia palm will arrive professionally pre-potted in a small travel pot. We strongly recommend that you re-pot your palm tree into a more decorative planter to finish off the look and increase the overall stability. Repotting your kentia palm only takes a few minutes and we’ve even created a quick step by step video guide to help.

What about ongoing maintenance?

Unlike a real palm tree, your artificial kentia palm doesn’t require watering or feeding. The only thing you will ever need to do is quickly dust the foliage to remove any build-up of dirt or debris. For more information on how to do this, read our guide to cleaning artificial plants here.

Did you know?

The kentia palm is considered to be vulnerable by the World Conservation Union. It got its scientific name, Howea Forsteriana, from Lord Howe Island in Australia, where it is native. Today’s seed is still imported from Howe Island and grown in Hawaii and California. Although it’s a slow growing tree, the kentia palm can grow to about 6-18 meters tall.
