Fuchsia is native to Argentina, Chile and Mexico and there is over 100 species. The most common fuchsia is the one we have mimicked in our artificial fuchsia patio planter which is the hybrid lady’s eardrop. Fuchsia is now widely cultivated and a very common feature for British gardens since it was first introduced to us in the 18th Century. The fuchsia was named after the German herbalist Leonard Fuchs. Fuchsia can survive for 100s of years; the oldest – which is still alive – was planted in 1899. Although ours may not last that long, with good care our artificial fuchsia patio planter has been manufactured to stand the test of time!
