Reviews & Questions

Here's Everything You Need To Know

What options are there?

The fern dicksonia is available in 60cm and 105cm tall. The 60cm size measures 55cm wide and the 105cm size measures 80cm wide. Each comes pre-potted in a small black starter pot, ready to be re-potted into a larger more attractive planter.

Will you be able to tell it’s not real?

This exotic faux fern features intricate foliage manufactured from top quality polyethylene plastic, which becomes smaller and fades out into a lighter green at each end. The trunk is coated in natural looking dark roots exactly like the real thing and features several smaller realistic shoots. See what real customers think of the fern dicksonia by reading our reviews above.

Where should you put it?

Pot the fern dicksonia up into a stylish planter and put it on your coffee table, sideboard, window ledge or in a small corner of your living space for a simple pop of long lasting tropical colour in your home. For more ideas on how to use your fern, check out our image gallery above.

This stunning faux plant is designed for indoor use only, therefore we do not recommend using it outdoors. Check out our UV guide for more information.

When the fern dicksonia arrives, this is what you need to do:

  1. Unpack
  2. Your fern dicksonia will arrive in a strong cardboard box. The pot and foliage may be wrapped in additional protection to keep them safe during transit and should be recycled where possible.

If by any chance your order arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as possible.

  3. Arrange
  4. After unboxing your fern dicksonia, you may notice that the foliage is slightly bunched together. This is normal and is a result of it being packed tightly to keep it safe. To correct this, simply bend out each frond into a natural looking arch. For more information on how to do this, watch our guide to arranging artificial plants.

  5. Finishing touches
  6. Your fern dicksonia will arrive professionally potted in a small travel pot which is designed to be re-potted into a larger more decorative planter. Not only does this finish off the look and help it to blend into your existing décor but it also gives the plant better overall stability. Find out how to re-pot your artificial tree by watching our handy potting guide here.

What about ongoing maintenance?

The natural fern dicksonia needs protecting throughout the winter to ensure it survives the milder weather and any frost. It also requires regular watering and needs well-drained soil to stay happy, however it won’t actually grow to its full height for anywhere between 20-50 years! Our artificial version is available in two sizes to suit your space and is ideal for adding low maintenance greenery in your home without any time lost or high maintenance hassle. The only thing you’ll need to do is dust it every now and then to prevent any build-up of dirt and maintain its highly realistic appearance.

Read our guide to cleaning artificial plants for more information.

Did you know?

The fern dicksonia, also known as the soft tree fern, is an evergreen tree native to Eastern Australia. It features a trunk cloaked in fibrous roots which can be cut open and used as a source of food if necessary.
